Eagles Release New Logo and Jersey for 2008-09 Season:


(Varkaus, Finland) – Varkaus Eagles, Second Division Minor Pro Team in the Finnish Ice Hockey Association today unveiled the jerseys that the team will wear for their 2008-09 season. The WHA over the Eagles Logo stands for World Hockey Association. The Eagles announced last month that they have created a partnership and affiliation with the WHA.

The team’s home jersey features the new ’ logo with the Name "WHA over the Eagles.” The home jersey is white, and features teal, black with an gray ring from the neck down the shoulders through to the top of the sleeves. The name and numbers on the back will be teal.

The team’s road jersey features the new ’ logo with the Name "WHA over the Eagles.” The jersey is teal on the front features teal, black with an gray ring from the neck down the shoulders through to the top of the sleeves. The name and numbers on the back will be gray.

In addition to these jerseys, players will wear black helmets, black pants, and Teal, white and black socks.

“We feel that our jerseys represent a new look to a traditional hockey sweater,” Eagles General Manager Keith McAdams said. “It will be great to see a variation of these sweaters for the fans that support the Varkaus Eagles.”

The WHA Eagles will open their season on September 13 in Varkaus Finland with a game against Oilers, from Mikkeli.
